More on Global Warming

Do your part to reduce global warming and build green! According to a report from the tri-national (Canada, Mexico and the US) Commission for Environmental Cooperation, "green building could slash greenhouse gas emissions in North America quickly and cheaply than other means." And that's a big deal, since the report also states that the source of approximately 35% of the greenhouse gases on North America is "the built environment." Another article details how the environmental group WWF is demanding none-too-quietly that the Group of Eight industrialized nations display global leadership by kicking global warming's butt. That is, "keep climate change in check."

What does this mean to you? It means you can do your part with your very own Active Roof! Find out more about this eco-weapon here and read the full article here. Come back soon!

Global warming got you down?

" 'Climate change is happening now, it is not something that will happen decades or centuries in the future,' " intones one of the lead authors of a recent and groundbreaking US government report. Yikes! What's an environmentally-conscious, responsible eco-warrior to do? Why, reduce your environmental impact and keep cool at the same time with your very own Active Roof, of course!

But seriously folks, read the article here.

First glimpse...

Here's a little look at our Malibu installation (obviously still under construction) - beta site numero uno!

Going Solar in Bangladesh!

This heartwarming little tale is a great example of the cumulative effect of solar roof systems. For the 100 million rural Bangladeshis, it's changing their futures. First comes the solar roof, then comes increased productivity, then new employment opportunities, then... who knows?

Here's an excerpt: " 'The renewable energy business in Bangladesh is the fastest growing green industry in the world,' said company CEO Niaz Rahim." Amazing!

Yesterday's Green Roofing

If we needed more proof that Active Roof is really going to revolutionize eco-friendly roofing, this article is it. It's a blog post on eco-friendly roofing materials, and it has some good information about the impact of different roofs on the environment. The focus is primarily material selection rather than what the author terms "alternative roofing systems," but it's a good rundown on what's out there now. What's so exciting is how miles ahead Active Roof is in terms of homeowner satisfaction and earth-friendliness. There's just no comparison!

Stay tuned, folks!

As if you need another reason to go green...

We all know (or should, by now) that fiberglass/asphalt composition shingles are a TERRIBLE roof choice. They're ugly, short-lived and seriously bad for the environment. If you have interest in keeping our planet healthy, asphalt shingles just cannot be a consideration for your new roof.

Check out this article on the environmental hazards of this type of roofing.

Then see why it pays (for you AND the Earth) to go solar. Or at the very least, metal.

The World's First Solar Hybrid Roof™

Active Roof Technologies™ is thrilled to introduce the latest and greatest in solar energy collection systems. Active Roof™ combines the endless benefits of superior metal roofing (for a quick rundown, click here) with a low-maintenance, highly effective solar energy collection system that is completely invisible.
